    PMP joins forces with The Lin and Ted Arison Israel Conservatory of Music again in 2018, and travel to Tel Aviv with its stellar faculty to work with a combined group of international and Israeli students. The two-and-a-half-week residency will take place at the Conservatory and will include private lessons, chamber music, chorus and orchestra, as well as trips and group activities.

    PMP alum violist Cong Wu performs sonatas by Brahms, Schubert, and Schumann with pianist Yinfei Wang on the Stires-Stark Alumni Recital Series at the Clark Arts Center. In partnership with Shelter Island Friends of Music, this concert is now a suggested donation at the door! Join us for a toast after the performance. Members of the Virtuoso Society may email us to reserve seats. 

    We welcome our artist partner Kia Pedersen, who will show a selection of her works this weekend in the Clark Arts Center. All of our thanks to Kia and ArtSIfor making this exhibition possible.

    Recently winning Third Prize and Chamber Music Prize in the Fourteenth Primrose International Viola Competition, and the Special Prize in the Twelfth Tertis International Viola Competition, violist Cong Wu (pronounced as Ts'ong) has performed throughout North America and Europe. He has been recently appointed as the guest viola faculty of National Arts Center Summer Institute in Canada, the artist of Music@Menlo Winter Residency in California, and the assistant faculty of Manhattan in the Mountains Music Festival in New York. Cong is also a member of New York Classical Players, Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, and guest member of East Coast Chamber Orchestra (ECCO). His festival appearances include Marlboro Music Festival, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Chamber Encounters, Music@Menlo, the Perlman Music Program and Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

    Born in China, Cong moved to New York in 2010. He won the Juilliard Alumni Scholarship and received his master’s degree with Heidi Castleman and Hsin-Yun Huang at the Juilliard School. Cong Wu is currently pursuing his doctoral degree at Manhattan School of Music with a full scholarship, studying with Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec.
