By Train: Long Island Railroad to Greenport (Ronkonkoma Line to Greenport Line)

By Bus: Hampton Jitney to Greenport (North Fork Line)

Reserve seats and pay the advance rate online before your trip. The last pick-up location in Manhattan is at 44th Street and 3rd Avenue. The bus also picks up / drops off passengers near exit 25 on I-495 (Long Island Expressway) for travelers coming from La Guardia or JFK airports. From the adjacent train/bus stops in Greenport, walk to the North Ferry at the water’s edge. Walk-on fares are $2 each way, cash only.
PMP provides transportation for summer program participants to/from the North Ferry on Shelter Island.
DIRECTIONS FROM NEW ENGLAND
Drive or take an Amtrak train (www.amtrak.com) or the Greyhound Bus Line (www.greyhound.com) to New London, CT, then take the Cross Sound Ferry to Orient Point.

Cross Sound Ferry accepts motor vehicles and walk-on passengers. Cars require advance reservations and payment, which book up quickly in the summertime. Walk-on passengers may pay at the Ferry office or in advance online. Tip: make an account for fare discounts, and book early for the best rates!
From Orient Point, drive or take a taxi (see above for recommendations) and follow signs for the North Ferry (“Shelter Island Ferry”) and Route 114. For an economical option, check the S92 bus schedule for a ride to the North Ferry in Greenport.
