With playing hailed as “gorgeous...positively ravishing, a marvel of emotional maturity and assurance" (San Francisco Classical Voice) and praised for its “natural, honest sense of communication” (The Strad), New York-based violinist Kenneth Renshaw is an emerging artist who is recognized for his  emotional depth and intensity of performances.

Kenneth gained international attention in 2012 after winning First Prize at the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition in Beijing. He was also a prize winner at the 2015 Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition of Belgium, and was invited to join the roster of Manhattan International Artists as First Prize winner of their inaugural competition.

As a result of these successes, he has been a featured soloist with orchestras internationally such as the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Lithuanian National Orchestra, the China Philharmonic Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Weimar, and the Jenaer Philharmonie, and has performed recitals at the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Flagey Studios (Brussels), the Menuhin Festival Gstaad ,and the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festspiele in Germany.

As a chamber musician he has made festival appearances at Caramoor's Evnin Rising Stars series, Ravinia,  and the Perlman Music Program, performing with renowned musicians such as pianist Leon Fleisher, violinists Pamela Frank and Cho-Liang Lin, and violist Kim Kashkashian. He will be a featured artist at the Marlboro Music Festival beginning 2020.

Equally active as a teacher, Kenneth serves as teaching assistant to Itzhak Perlman and violin pedagogue Li Lin at The Juilliard School, where he holds the Starling Foundation Violin Teaching Fellowship.

He has been a guest masterclass artist at the Santa Marcelina Cultura in Brazil, the Crowden Music Center, and the Island Arts Music Festival, and will be assistant chamber music faculty at The Perlman Music Program summer 2019.

Kenneth is interested in finding new ways to musically communicate with audiences through multiple artistic mediums, resulting in ongoing collaborations with visionary pianist/filmmaker Yang Bao on films and multidisciplinary performance showcases featuring music, dance, film, and electronics.

Kenneth is a proud recipient of the Kovner Fellowship at The Juilliard School, where he holds a bachelors degree and is currently pursuing a masters degree. His major teachers include Itzhak Perlman, Li Lin, Catherine Cho, and Donald Weilerstein.
