STIRES-STARK ALUMNI
RECITAL SERIES

In 2012, with the underwriting support of Sidney S. Stark and the Stires-Stark Family Foundation, PMP inaugurated a year-round recital series at the Clark Arts Center. Alumni are invited to return to their Shelter Island roots and present world-class performances for the East End community.

WORKS IN PROGRESS CONCERTS

Works in Progress Concerts (called WIPs for short), are an opportunity for students and alumni to perform for a supportive audience of friends and fans. Concerts take place throughout the year at the Neue Galerie New York and PMP’s Shelter Island campus.

Alumni Creative Residency

The Alumni Creative Residency is open to PMP alumni and provides a unique opportunity for artists and ensembles to work on developing an artistic project of their choice during an inspiring and flexible residency on the PMP campus in Shelter Island.

ALUMNI CHAMBER MUSIC RETREAT

The Chamber Music Retreat develops community engagement and performance skills. Each fall, sixteen alumni return to Shelter Island to study chamber music with Merry Peckham and Itzhak Perlman, and delve into community performance practices with advisor Tanya Maggi. The retreat culminates with a concert at the Clark Arts Center, and a day of community engagement in classrooms across the East End.

SALONS & peer SUPPORT

Sunday Salons are held throughout the year and offer chamber music sight-reading sessions, companionship and a family dinner to nearby alumni and current students.

The Adopt-a-Little program pairs PMP Summer Music School students applying to colleges across the country with PMP alumni at those colleges for guidance and support during the audition process. Littles and their alumni mentors connect about college admissions, programs, faculty, and life on campus.
